A Guide on How to Make the Perfect Pierogies
I am very confident that most readers will agree with me when I say that nothing beats home cooked meals. Doesn’t matter if it’s a regular supper with your family or you are expecting guests to come over, you can always be sure that everyone will love your family’s delicacies. Serving and eating good food will not only remind us of the good old days, it will even strengthen the bond of our family members.
In this article, we will be discussing how to cook one of the most popular homemade treats- classic pierogies. Pierogies are also known as “varenyky”. These treats originated from Central and Eastern Europe but they are very popular worldwide. Pierogies are dough that contains different kinds of fillings. These fillings can either be meat, vegetables, and even cheese. You can cook pierogies by either boiling or frying them. No matter what method you use or what fillings you put in it, one thing is certain, it will be very delicious.
Here are the list of ingredients you need:
What I Can Teach You About Foods
– All-purpose flour (4 cups)
Why People Think Tips Are A Good Idea
-2 teaspoons of salt
-Prepare two teaspoons of pepper.
-2 teaspoons of melted butter
-2 cups of sour cream
-Prepare three pieces of eggs.
-2 teaspoons of vegetable oil
-1 cup of shredded cheese
-Prepare three tablespoons of cheese sauce.
-Onion (1 piece)
First, you have to prepare a large bowl where you can mix your flour and salt. Once you are finished, get a separate bowl to whisk the melted butter, eggs, vegetable oil, and sour cream. Make sure you stir very well in order for all the ingredients to blend together. Once you are done, leave the dough to rise and cover the bowl with a clean towel.
While waiting for your dough to rise, it is now time to cook your potatoes. Get a huge pot where you can boil your potatoes for approximately 15 minutes. After 15 minutes and your potatoes are now cooked, you have to mash it and mix in your shredded cheese and cheese sauce (I recommend that you mix in the cheese sauce while it’s hot). Don’t forget to season it with salt and pepper.
After your dough has risen, it will be much easier for you to roll it when you divide it into two parts. Roll it out on a floured surface until it is thin. After this, get your cookie cutter or perogie cutter and start cutting the dough into circles. Now that you have cut circles of dough, you may now put the filling on the center of each. Make sure that you seal the edges by pressing the dough well. To cook the perogies, you can either boil or fry them.
